Man with history of assaulting women charged for trying to kidnap woman from her kitchen

A Minneapolis man with a history of assaulting women is facing charges for trying to pull a woman through an open apartment window in St. Paul last week, before she fought him off. Eduart Gomez Ochoa, 28, was charged Monday in Ramsey County court with one count of first-degree burglary and one count of attempted kidnapping. According to the complaint, officers were called to an apartment building on the 700 block of Como Avenue around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday after a woman reported she was cooking near an open ground-level window when Gomez Ochoa appeared with half his body inside her apartment, grabbed her and tried to pull her out. Charging documents say she kicked and screamed before Gomez Ochoa let go of her and ran away. Officers found the window screen damaged and recovered a hat and headband from inside the kitchen that the woman said belonged to him.
